Best WordPress Plugins
Hi, here you will find my list of best WordPress plugins for your website. I will update this list upon using new plugins that I will find worth to tell about.
My general recommendation would be to avoid plugins where possible, but if there is no other way, than you should choose the best one. Currently there are so many WordPress plugins written, that it became very hard to choose the best one, because for the same functionality you can find around hundred plugins.
1. Limit login attempts
Very important plugin for keeping your WordPress secure and avoiding brute-force attacks.
Limit Login Attempts blocks an Internet address from making further attempts after a specified limit on retries is reached, making a brute-force attack difficult or impossible.
This is the first plugin that you should install on your website, because by default WordPress allows unlimited login attempts and it does not have an automatic system of notifications. So this means you will never know who and when tried to hack your website. With this plugin I discovered that even my newly created blog, is being attacked. So consider installing this plugin before everything else. Finally, it is absolutely free of charge, download and enjoy.
- Limit the number of retry attempts when logging in (for each IP). Fully customizable
- Limit the number of attempts to log in using auth cookies in same way
- Informs user about remaining retries or lockout time on login page
- Optional logging, optional email notification
- Handles server behind reverse proxy
2. BWP Google XML Sitemaps
A very useful plugin for SEO optimization and Google integration.
This plugin creates several sitemaps for your website, based on your posts, pages and has whole a lot of other nice stuff. It’s fast, easy to use and will enable more accurate indexing of your website in Google search engine. After creating sitemaps you should submit them to Google through Google Webmasters Tools and you are done! Be ready for more targeted search engine traffic and high positions in search engines.
WordPress sitemap plugin has support for both sitemapindex and Multi-site websites! Do not worry about the 50,000 URL limit or the time it takes for a sitemap to be generated. This plugin is fast, consumes much fewer resources and can be extended via your very own modules (yes, no hooks needed!). Here’s a demo of the sitemapindex if you are interested.
Again, it is absolutely free, as all the great things are! Detailed overview of the plugin you can find in its BWP Google XML Sitemaps homepage.

3. Best Multilingual Plugin for WordPress – WPML
I’m an Armenian, and it is very popular in Armenia to order a website with two or even three languages. To say the truth it is a really challenging task. And you can hardly find a good and stable realization of multilingual CMS among free popular content management systems, like WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and so on. After searching for couple of days, I found that currently the only acceptable solution for multilingual WordPress is WPML plugin.
With WPML you can translate pages, posts, custom types, taxonomy, menus and even the theme’s texts.
The only thing is that it is not a free plugin. There are two options available, economical option for multilingual blogs and complete solution for multilingual websites with WordPress.
4. Best WordPress Caching Plugin
This is the best caching plugin ever! Why? Simple because it is authored by the creators of WordPress!
If you have chance to activate memcache server and run this plugin with memcache, you will be just amazed, how fast your website is.
